Onekama circular fountain, Onekama, Michigan

A custom water fountain built as a true circle in stone, with a hidden basin and a rim substantial enough to sit on.
The client wanted the presence of water at the entry, but without the borrowed language of tile, statuary, or a faux-Roman fountain. The answer was a working pool in the same stone register as the rest of the property.
The circle was laid true, course by course, and capped with stone thick enough to act as seating. The basin is hidden below the rim because water does not need authenticity, but the eye does.
From standing height, only the stone should declare itself.
